Stanley Ray Russell passed away on May 9th, 2024, at the age of 73, overlooking the ocean in Corona Del Mar, California.
As a young adult, Stan was very good at many sports, but baseball stole his heart. He signed out of high school with the Dodgers Baseball Organization in 1969. What an incredible accomplishment! Unfortunately, a 95MPH fast ball to his elbow shattered his baseball career. As, we all know when one door closes another door opens and Stan’s true legacy started when he opened Stan Russell Financial and Insurance Services back in 1973.
Tomorrow is not promised, and dad always said, “Have you ever seen a hearse pull a U-Haul?” His License Plate said “PLANMAN” for a reason. His ultimate joy was traveling around the world making memories, embracing the beach bum lifestyle, and waking up each day to help make the world a better place.
Stan was an athlete, strong till the end, battling multi-organ failure. He was diagnosed in 2019 with an incurable heart disease called Amyloidosis, then kidney failure, and ultimately liver failure. Despite his health keeping him from doing what he loved, he never complained and had such a positive attitude.
Stan was laid to rest at Fairhaven Memorial Park in Santa Ana, CA on May 20, 2024, in an intimate family interment. To honor Stan and the impact he made on the world, we will be having a Celebration of Life, on a date yet determined. He will be truly missed, never forgotten, and held always in our heart.
