When Stevan came to our classroom he was hesitant to leave his wheelchair. But , within a couple of weeks and with the never ending support of Laurie Cottrell, he was using a gait trainer.  In the beginning,  Stevan was unsure about walking , but  eventually he became stronger and  was walking around the school campus with staff holding his hand. Stevan is a shining light for all to see and his persistence is a lesson for us all.  Prayers for the family.

I had the pleasure of working with Steven a couple summers ago at ESY. He really loved back and arm rubs and I was happy to oblige. He truly was the best part of my day. I’ll never forget his sweet little giggles. Rest well sweet angel.

The first day I met Stevan I knew I wanted to work closely with him. He not only had the most contagious laugh, but he introduced me to a new world of communication and helped me become aware of how our environment can change our mood and energy. 

I am left with so many amazing memories of him working SO hard through circle time, tolerating sitting, standing, eating, and always signing for more when he had his chocolate cookie. 

Overall, he became a friend to me and he gave me direction when figuring out my career path. Thank you Stevan for the countless laughs, hugs, and milestones we experienced together. I will always keep you close to my heart ❤️

My time at BCLC was often filled with these types of days. It was a joy to work alongside with Stevan and  to witness as he explored the world around him, toes first! I am better for knowing him and playing with him was a joy. I remember his smile and his giggles.  My love and condolences to his family and friends. 

Dear Stevan, I will never forget your giggles, the way you would make yourself comfortable by leaning on me and place my hands on your head to make me scratch you. I’ll miss your smile and walking with you to your swing. You will always hold a special place in my heart thank you for all the beautiful memories. Love you, Ms Dulce
