Suzanne Elizabeth Berry

Suzanne Elizabeth Berry, 81, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, in Orange, California. She was born on December 9, 1944, in Augusta, Maine, to Daniel J. Mellor and Nancy Smith.

Suzanne was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She leaves behind her children: Heather Flaherty, Lisa Hibberd, Rodney Mapes, Shawn Mapes, Stanley Berry II, and Misty Harrison, as well as her son Jack Mapes, who preceded her in death.

She was a proud grandmother to 19 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 10 great-grandchildren, with an 11th great-grandchild on the way.

Suzanne is also survived by her brother, John Henry Mellor, known by family as Jack, and his family in Maine, and her aunt, Betty and her family in Massachusetts.

Family was at the heart of Suzanne’s life. She loved nothing more than having as many of her children and grandchildren gathered around her as possible. Thanksgiving and Christmas were especially meaningful to her, when the house was filled with the people she loved, laughter, memories, and togetherness.

Suzanne now joins her beloved husband, Stanley D. Berry, who rests at Fairhaven Cemetery. Together again, they are reunited in the place where love has no distance and family is never apart.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by the many lives she touched.
