

Verna Mae (Collins) (Bell) Miller, 88, a resident of Calimesa, CA for many years, passed away in the early hours of Friday, February 17, 2017 in Loma Linda, California. She was born October 14, 1928 in Bucoda, Missouri to Virgil & Cora Collins. She moved with her family to California at the age of 10 where, except for a few short years in Arizona, lived her entire life. She was a graduate of Santa Ana High School, class of 1945. She was a dedicated Christian and lived her life accordingly. She became Mrs. Donald G. Bell on June 17, 1946 and was blessed with 4 children. After her husbands’ death in 1968, she married “Gene” Miller on October 4, 1974. At the time of her death they had been married 42 years. She had no formal education yet was never shy of hard work and helping with anything that needed done. She will be remembered as the Bingo “cake lady” and the Grandmother who brought pounds of her homemade candy every Christmas. After suffering a stroke in 2013, life became simpler. She enjoyed quiet days, going to lunch and “family” Christmas. She is survived by her Husband, Sherman Eugene “Gene” Miller of Calimesa, CA; Daughter, Sharon Williamson and husband Roger of Henderson, NV; Son, Terry L. Bell and wife Kim of Puyallup, WA; 9 Grandchildren, Lesa Hibbard, CA, Danny Williamson, CA, Angela Kana, CA, Danna Williamson, CA, Donald Bell, KS, Heather Buelna, CA, Angie Duby, CA, Wyatt Bell, CA, Max Bell, WI; 11 Great-Grandchildren, Katelynn, Morgan, Alyson, Peyton, Ashlyn, David, Hailey, Carson, Justin, Jordan, Joshua; 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren, Robby and Lacey; Brothers, Auddie Collins, CA and Clifford Collins, CO. She was proceeded in death by her Husband, Donald G. Bell, October 18, 1968; Son, David G. Bell, October 19, 2001 and Son, Gary L. Bell, August 4, 2013; Siblings, Loyce Collins, GP Collins and Bonnie McKinzie.
