Adell Jean (Silva) Murray
Resident of Sunnyvale
July 29, 1942 – August 15, 2010
Adell Jean (Silva) Murray passed away on Sunday. She was loved by many for her caring and thoughtful nature.
Adell was born to Joseph and Mary Silva on July 29, 1942 in Los Banos, CA. She grew up on the family dairy farm with her older siblings, David, Allene, and Daniel. She attended Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School and then Los Banos High School. In 1963, she graduated from Mary's Help in San Francisco with a Registered Nursing degree. After graduation she continued to live in and work in the City at St. Luke's and Children's Hospital. On March 22, 1969 she married Michael Murray at St. Thomas Apostle Catholic Church in San Francisco. In the spring of 1975 they bought their first home in the Almaden Valley area of San Jose. On July 17, 1975 their first daughter, Nicole Adell, was born. They then welcomed their second daughter, Shannon Jean, on January 23, 1977. The family lived in Almaden Valley until 1988 when they moved to Sunnyvale.
Adell worked as a Registered Nurse for 46 years. For 38 years she was a dialysis nurse at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View. She was a dedicated professional who cared deeply for her patients, their families, and her coworkers. Adell made her home a place for her family and friends to gather, frequently hosting parties for all occasions. Every October, she and her husband traveled with their closest friends to various wine country destinations. This trip has been a tradition for them for over 35 years. For Adell, nothing was more important to her than family and friends. Her love for them was demonstrated in the way she lived her everyday life.
Adell is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary (Cardoza) Silva. She is survived by her devoted husband, Michael; and loving children Nicole Murray of San Francisco and Shannon Parker (Jay) of Sherman Oaks. She is also survived by her brothers, David of Los Banos and Daniel of Stockton; and her sister, Allene of Los Banos.
Adell will be buried with her parents at Los Banos Cemetery.
