Adrienne Marie (Allain) Schablaske was quite a character. She had a great love like no other for her husband Clem, her children and her grand-children. She was blessed to have met her first great-grandson Charlie, and it brought her great joy to rub his baby feet.
All her children and grand-children will say she was the greatest Music Master ever. Nobody could play the Tuba or the Schpeela quite like "Nonnie" did.
Mom was a passionate gardener and master at garden watering. She loved Christmas, and owned many hundreds of Santa’s and Snowmen. Her family will never forget the annual Christmas “grab bag.”
Adrienne also loved hats. Halloween hats. Her Minnie Mouse Ears. Easter hats. Fourth of July hats. Straw hats. Christmas hats. Hats with flowers on them. Back in the day she was quite the dish with her fashionable hats, gloves, pumps and shift dresses or pencil skirts.
Adrienne was a fierce defender of the athletes in her family. She loved going for a drive with Clem, short or long (usually long) - to see her children or grand-children play football, gymnastics, baseball, softball, soccer, track and field, wrestling, and even roller derby! Watching the kids sporting events was a great love of hers. Going for a drive to Tahoe, Santa Cruz or Lexington Reservoir were also favorite drives. Family Camps, family picnics, a quick trip to Reno, and church picnics were favorites as well.
In her later years, Mom just about cornered the franchise on the Hallmark Channel. No show escaped her attention, particularly mystery whodunits, courtroom dramas, the Golden Girls, or happy ending love stories.
Mom was a prolific story teller. She loved to tell stories of all the naughty, funny, or just plain dumb things her family, or her kids or her grandkids did. So many stories, so many years of storytelling. Mom at her happiest.
