family. Born October 24, 1933, in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Ferdinando and
Juanita (Valdes) Panetta.
Al met the love of his life, Bea, and they married in 1955. They relocated when Al was in the Navy
and to join his older sister and brother-in-law in the Santa Clara valley. Al drove his parents and
younger sister from Pennsylvania to California to complete the family’s move. The siblings lived
within walking distance of their parents and each other. Family gatherings and holiday traditions
were important to Al and Bea alike. Dinners with his parents, his sisters and their families along
his family were commonplace. Often evenings ended with a spirited game of pinochle. These
family traditions continued even after their children married.
Al began his lifetime career in the accounting industry and received his MBA from Santa Clara
University. Al worked as treasurer and senior accounting officer at several businesses until
fulfilling a life-long dream and opening his own accounting firm in Sunnyvale. A permanent fixture
in the building on the corner of Mathilda and Olive, Al enjoyed working night and day in his office.
Often regarding his clients as his extended family. Apart from managing his company, Al enjoyed
spending time with his family - spending time with his children and grandchildren whenever he
could. He was a respected Certified Public Accountant and member of the Sunnyvale Rotary for
many years also serving as their Treasurer during this time.
Al is survived by his two daughters, Theresa and her husband Paolo and their children, Roberto
and Bianca, of Santa Clara; Rhonda and her husband Rich of Eatonville, WA; his sister Jacquilyn
of Santa Clara, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents,
his sister, Lillian, and his wife Bea in 2018.
