In Celebration of Life and in Loving Memory
Anicia Viernes Agonoy, born in the Philippines then immigrated to the United States with her children Frederick and Janet Agonoy in 1962, to join her husband Agapito Agonoy.
She has resided in Sunnyvale, California with her family for 10 years then moved with her family to Santa Clara California for 54 years. In addition, she and her husband acquired a vacation home in Las Vegas, Nevada for 26 years as well having a home in Eastwood City, Manila, Philippines for 18 years. She enjoyed with her family and friends traveling where the sun is always bright and the days are warm.
Anicia earned her certificate from the Republic of the Philippines Board of Medical Examiners as midwife on Jan. 27, 1953. Anicia began her career as a midwife delivering babies both independently and in hospital settings where urgency and compassion were essential. Upon moving to the United States, she continued her education to practice nursing at Foothill College in Los Altos California to acquire her license and certification to be an Obstetrics nurse. Soon after she was hired by Kaiser Hospital on Kiely Boulevard in Santa Clara for 33 years as a Labor and Delivery nurse. It was her first and only employment in the United States.
Anicia loved and was very proud of her children Frederick and Janet. She was blessed with one grandson named Brandon that she loved and admired so much along with Brandon’s mother Sandra.
Her hobbies included hosting parties at the houses, ballroom dancing, traveling and occasional gambling. Her favorite table game was Blackjack because Bingo was just too boring and slow for her. Playing the slot machine was her arm exercise. These games kept her mind sharp to the end. Anicia was a loving, caring, supportive and sensitive mom and grandmother who was a devout Catholic.
Her life came to an end during her retirement at 93 years old due to heart disease. She will always be remembered as one of the best moms who ever lived. Anicia will be missed by all.
God bless you Mom. We love you and now you are reunited with your husband Agapito, your parents Hermogenes and Ursula, your sisters Charring, Salling, and Hoben, and your brothers Peregrino and Jaime.
