

Tony, 85, passed away on January 14, with family by his side. Survived by his loving wife, Dorothy, of 62 years, children, Susan Vieira (John) and Edward Souza (Sue), grandchildren, Brian, Janelle (John), Darin, Stacey, and Eric, great granddaughter, Joslyn, sisters, Mary Silva and Lorraine Figueira (John), brother-in-law Jerry Guerreiro (Sue), and many caring nieces and nephews. Proceeded in death by siblings Minnie Brancato and Manuel Souza. A veteran of WWII, Tony lived his entire life on Monroe St. in Santa Clara, spending 30 years working for the city, retiring as Building Official. Tony was a dedicated member of the Portuguese American Club, American Legion Post 419 and the Santa Clara Sister City Club. In retirement, Tony and Dorothy enjoyed traveling in their RV and supporting their grandchildren’s many activities. A loyal supporter of the Giants and 49ers, Tony was a long-time golfer, skilled craftsman, talented musician and avid orchid grower.
