He was born Americo Ferreira on September 5, 1929 in Mission San Jose to Anastacio Ferreira and Zulmeda Souza Ferreira, but everyone knew him as Art. He was married to Mary Pauline Ferreira for 43 years before her passing in 2010.
Art was an MP in the National Guard and gained his private pilot license in 1961. He was a business owner for many years and finished out his career as a salesman, before retiring in the late 1990’s. He was well known in his neighborhood of 54 years, as he was very social and would take the neighborhood kids for rides on his tractors up and down the street. Once he got into his 80's he traded the tractors in for scooters and then would rip up and down the street in his scooter with his little dog Zoe. Everyone knew Art.
Art was survived by his sister Alice Foster of Fremont, his son Kirk Kull and daughter-in-law Jessica of Santa Clara, daughter Terri Fox of Marina, daughter Debbie and son-in-law Mark Blackwell of San Jose, and his three grandsons Travis Kull, Vincent Kull, and Erich Kull.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 North Winchester Blvd, Santa Clara, CA 95050, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
