
“Hardest working man ever” Berna Enriquez passed away at his home with his family by his side. Berna was born in Upland, CA to Soledad and Jose Enriquez. He was married to Virginia on Dec. 26, 1945 for 67 years. Berna was a hardworking man; working several jobs at one time. He was employed at PSSI at Stanford University for 40 years. But his passion was in landscaping, so he worked for International Nursery in Sunnyvale alongside PSSI. He had many clients in Willow Glen and Los Altos. Don Lima and the Lima Family Mortuary were among Berna’s first clients. At home he would work in his lathe house transplanting and training plants which he gave to family and friends. Berna is survived by his wife Virginia, sons Vern (Eleanor), Gary (Robbyn), Jack (Jennie), daughter Lauren Gardner, 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters Annie Mendez and Emily Stiennes. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 14th from 5-9PM with Rosary at 6:30PM at Lima Family Santa Clara, 466 N. Winchester Blvd., Santa Clara. Mass will be held on Thursday, August 15th at 11AM at St. Clare Parish, 941 Lexington St., Santa Clara. Interment to follow in Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln St., Santa Clara.
