

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 11 am at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary.
He was born on August 13, 1949 at Palo Alto Hospital in Palo Alto, CA to Joseph and Frances Anaya.
He was class valedictorian and lettered in track and field at Sunnyvale High School in Sunnyvale, CA, where he was a student council member, member of Key Club, and National Honor Society member.
In 1971, he graduated with a BA in mathematics from San Jose State University, where he met and married his wife Janet in 1972.
While taking graduate classes in math, he was a lecturer at San Jose State teaching finite math to business majors.
In 1972, he went to work for Fairchild Semiconductor, where he had the chance to meet and work with some of the leaders in semiconductor technology. He worked in the R&D division of Polaroid Land.
After his boss took a position with Advanced Micro Devices in 1974, he soon followed. He worked with the group that developed the process technologies for all the Intel/AMD microprocessors, and the chips later used in cell phones.
In the 1990s, he became a full time, stay-at-home caregiver for his parents and in-laws, before retiring.
During his later years, he enjoyed going to San Francisco Giants games, gardening, World War II history, and fantasy sports.
He is survived by his wife Janet and his sons Tim and Danny.
