

He is survived by his children, Matthew Amaro and Anna Amaro; his mother, Gayle Pena, and stepfather, Willie Pena; and former wife, Cheri Amaro. He was predeceased by his father, Leo Amaro. Christopher leaves behind his siblings, Jennifer Amaro, David Pena, Leo Amaro Jr., and Jeanine Amaro Barbaro, as well as many cherished aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his beloved pets Henry, Steven, and Felicia.
Christopher graduated from Santa Clara High School and dedicated over 30 years of his life working for the Santa Clara School District before his retirement. He took great pride in his service to the district, where his contributions had a lasting impact on the students and community.
Christopher was passionate about many things, including fishing, spending time at his cabin in Long Barn, and rooting for the San Francisco Giants. He was a talented harmonica player and loved attending live music concerts. His warmth and sense of humor made him a joy to be around, and he will be fondly remembered for his love of life, family, and adventure.
A public memorial service will be held on November 9, 2024, from 10-12pm at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, located at 466 North Winchester Blvd, Santa Clara with a reception to follow. Christopher will be laid to rest at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to JW House, a non-profit organization at Kaiser Santa Clara hospital that supports families with medical needs. During Chris’ stay in the hospital, his family relied on the hospitality of the JW House daily for a homemade meal, snacks, and a place to relax and recharge. Christopher will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His love of family, music, and the outdoors will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
