9/24/90 - 6/13/15
Resident of Santa Clara. Passed tragically on June 13, 2015 in Palo Alto, CA in his Dad's loving arms. Chris was the beloved son to Chris and Terri Damron, devoted brother of Anthony Damron and best friend to Bill Capogeannis. Chris was preceded in death by his grandmothers, grandfathers, aunts and cousin. He was a loving & beloved nephew / cousin to many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Chris was such a warm hearted person and was loved by so many people he met in person as well as on-line. He came into this world fighting to survive. He fought to over-come so many medical issues from the time he was born to 2009 when he had his kidney transplant. Chris was always a positive person no matter what was going on. His passion for anything with a motor started at the age of 5 with dirt bikes always riding together as a family. He then went on to BMX Racing at Santa Clara PAL BMX track along side of his little Brother, Mom & Dad. The family moved on to Go-Ped racing on scooters and karts with Pocket Bike GP & USSRL races down in Southern California. Dad and Chris spent so many hours building scooters & karts together. They made scooters/karts from the ground up for family, friends and strangers. He learned all the mechanical in's and out's for everything with a motor from his Dad. That was a special gift they shared together. After that Chris started SIM racing with iRacing on his PC. Chris and his Dad built & welded together a SIM race car set up in his room. His favorite SIM track was Nurburgring. He had completed thousands of laps on it since R-Factor starting years ago. He taught Bill how to drive the SIM on Assetto Corsa. They had made a promise to each other that they would save up enough money to go drive it. His first job was at LeMans Karting in Fremont which just fit him so well. When Chris found his 1st dream car a 1970 Datsun 510 KA he and his Dad built the car from the ground up. After getting it dialed at SCCA autox he went on to driving his 510 at track days all over California with his Dad, Mom and best buddy Bill by his side. When he completed his first track day at Thunderhill he was hooked. His favorite track to drive was Buttonwillow. He was going to finally drive at Sonoma this weekend. Chris was working towards getting his license with NASA - National Auto Sports Association. He has a special talent for racing and knew what to do no matter what he raced.
There will be a viewing for Chris on Friday, June 26th, starting at 5:00 pm at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 N. Winchester Blvd., Santa Clara, CA 95050.
