Connie was born in Mexico City, the eldest child of Pedro and Bertha Castanon. She passed away on Sunday. She moved to the United States on November 16th 1955 and resided in San Jose California. Connie proudly became a United States citizen on November 10,1999.
Connie was devoted to her family. She was very loving, kind and patient. She always put her family's needs ahead of her own. Connie enjoyed Halloween. Connie's home was one of the few houses in her area that passed out candies on Halloween. So, every Halloween tons of children would come to feast on all the candy. She would wear a Casper the Friendly Ghost mask while passing out handfuls of candy. The kids enjoyed her Halloween spirit. Connie will dearly be missed be all that knew her.
Connie never married or had children. Connie is survived by her ten brothers and sisters; Gloria, Pedro Jr., Victor Sr., Juan Carlos, Miguel Angel, Fausto, America, Ruben, Pita, Cristian and several nieces and nephews including Victor Jr., Jose Luis and Bertha. Friends and family are invited to a Rosary Vigil Thurs. July 12 at 6:30pm with visitation from 6 to 9pm at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 North Winchester Blvd. The Funeral Mass will be Friday July 13 at 11am at Saint Leo the Great Church, 88 Race Street in San Jose. Interment will follow in Santa Clara Mission Cemetery.
