David Arthur Stark, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on April 30, 2025, at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara. He was 60 years old.
Born on August 23, 1964, at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania, David lived a life full of knowledge, curiosity, and generosity. He graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance in 1987 and later earned his MBA in 1991. He began his career in finance with Ford Motor Credit, but after moving to Irvine, California, in the late 1990s, he discovered his calling in pharmaceutical sales. Over the next two decades, David worked as a Sales Representative and Territory Manager for companies such as Mission Pharmaceutical, AstraZeneca, and Pfizer.
A man of many talents, David was also a licensed real estate agent, a certified drone pilot, and a highly respected Pro-Service Supervisor at Home Depot in the later years of his life. A true jack of all trades, he was the go-to person for friends, family, and coworkers alike. Whether the issue was health, home repairs, finance, or technology, David always had the answer.
He had a deep passion for gardening and outdoor projects, often seen building decks, installing irrigation systems, or maintaining a chicken coop. Even in the sweltering summer heat, he could be found working hard in the yard or fixing something in the garage. When not immersed in a project, David enjoyed photo and videography, capturing life’s moments through drone flights and action cameras.
Above all, David was an incredible father. He devoted himself to his children—driving them to school, attending their extracurriculars, and teaching them skills that would serve them for life. David was also someone his children could always turn to. No matter the problem, he listened with empathy and never made them feel judged. He had a calm, steady presence that made it easy to open up to him, and in every conversation, he made them feel deeply loved and understood. His love for his family was unwavering, and his impact on their lives will never be forgotten.
David is survived by: his loving wife, Sarene La Stark; his three children, Kyle Kienphu Stark, Kent Kienhong Stark, and Megan Mayphung Stark; and his sister, Diane Stark; his parents: Daniel Eugene Stark and Dorothy B. Stark; his aunt: Mary Brennan; his cousins: Guy Brennan, Mark Wolcott, Joseph Wolcott.
A memorial service will be held at Lima Family Mortuary in Santa Clara on Thursday, May 22nd, from 9 AM to 12 PM, where family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate his remarkable life.
He was the most interesting, comical, intelligent, and softhearted person in the world. Our beloved father, husband, brother, son, and friend, may you now rest in peace. We love you, and you’ll forever be in our hearts.
“We Are.”
