Dear Cousins Joseph, Danny, Alan, your wives and families,
We write these words with heavy hearts and especially fond memories of your mother, our dear Aunt Dorothy.  We were blessed to have had her in our lives—absolutely one of the most admired women we have ever had the pleasure to encounter on our journey on this earth.  Our memories of her go back to early childhood:  as a beautiful bride (first wedding I was allowed to attend! And she looked just like my bride doll), a young wife and mother, and most of all, as our beloved Aunt, the one who always was interested in whatever we were doing, the one who smiled at us as if we were the most important ones in the room, the one who even kept in touch with us and our spouses even after we were married, with our children as they grew and  who remembered their children, as well.  We were inspired by her faith and her faithfulness:  how she attended Mass, how she cared for Uncle Joseph during his lengthy illness, and how she raised her sons.  Aunt Dorothy is and will always be one of our heroes, one of those people who touches your heart in all the right ways, and makes you better just because she was there.  We will miss her; we will always love her.

Joseph, Danny, Alan and families- My brother,Terry, expressed our feelings so eloquently but I want you to understand how much we all appreciated your mom and her kind, gentle ways. She was never without that smile and that twinkle in her eye, just like our Uncle Joseph. It is no wonder he adored her.

Our sympathy goes out to Alan, Dan and Joe and their families.  We enjoyed our many joyful visit with Dorothy when she came to North Carolina to visit Alan.  She was a super person and Mom.  We will miss her.

To my cousins, Joseph, Dan, and Alan, and your families, with tremendously fond memories of your mother, and sincere condolences from my family here in Texas. Your mother, in my view, was a saint, and one of my favorite relatives. My childhood memories of her, mostly at Grandma and Grandpa's homes in Gilroy, are always with a smile on her face, a caring question for me about my activities, and most of all, a close and caring bond with your father, my Uncle Joseph. She cared for him with incredible diligence, and I always have and always will admired her for that. Since his passing, she never missed a beat. She communicates consistently with Deedee and I for birthdays, anniversary, and Christmas. I am so sorry I cannot be present to pay final tributes in person, but trust me when I say she has been in my prayers since my mother passed on the news on 12/29, and I will have a heavy heart but a fond, uplifting thought process on Friday for final services. I wish you all well and know she is in heaven caring for all of us, but especially your children. God Bless You--Terry & Deedee and boys.

I have had the pleasure of being Dorothy's hairdresser since 1987. In what began as a business relationship, it quickly blossomed to a life long friendship.  During her weekly appointments we would always share stories about our lives and family offering each other support and advice.  It was great to have someone who listened and cared.  I was looking forward to seeing Dorothy at her appointment on the 31st as I was looking forward to wishing her a happy new year.  So when her son Joe called me on the 30th I was immediately filled with sadness.  On the 31st during her scheduled appointment time, I read her Christmas card countless times as this was my last contact with her.  Not only was she a great friend, she was an incredible mother.  She was always proud of her grand children.  I remember she was so happy when her grand daughter prepared breakfast for her.  She often spoke fondly of her brothers.  It was clear she looked after them.  It is unfortunate that I will not be able to attend her funeral as I am recovering from surgery.  My prayers go out to her family, her sons Joe, Daniel, Alan, her brother Don and his wife Olga and all of the friends that knew her.   It is incredibly difficult to put in to words the loss I feel inside.  She will be missed dearly.

As a good friend of Dan's I had the privilege of spending time with his mom during our high school and college days.  She ALWAYS had a smile on her face and was quick to laugh and provide us with some great home cooking.  She was a great role model for her three boys and raised them well.  I know that her family will miss her very much and my deepest sympathies go out to them.

Hi Dan and Wendy, our thoughts and prayers are with you on the loss of Dan's Mom. She will still be watching over you, just from a higher vantage point.
