Elaine F. Gray

Elaine passed away peacefully at the age of 98 surrounded by her family. She was born in Huntington, Oregon to Lee and Grace Vredenburg as the youngest of 4 children, sister, Eunice and twin brothers, Donald & Darrel. In 1960 she was hired as one of the first women printers at the San Jose Mercury News. She also had several articles published there and for other publications. She loved music and recorded two cd’s for her family and friends. Her greatest loves were her family, her pets, music and writing. She was the beloved mother of Gary Ellis (deceased) (Nancy), Sandy Myers (Bruce), Jim Allen (Sharon), Dawnna Mandel and grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother to a total of 50 descendants. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. She was also preceded in death by her parents, siblings and two husbands, Ervin Allen and Jack Gray. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016 from 5-8PM with vigil at 6PM at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 N. Winchester Blvd., Santa Clara, where the Funeral Service will also be held on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016 at 11AM. Interment to follow at Los Gatos Memorial Park.
