Telma was born and raised in Faial Acores. She married her husband and had one child in Faial (Edward) before coming to the United States in May of 1958, her husband and son joined her on December 12, 1958. They began their life in the U.S., having another son (Melvin) in 1961 and a daughter (Diana) in 1966. Diana passed away at only seven weeks old, remaining in her parents’ hearts every day.
Telma and Liduino raised their two sons with compassion, and devotion to her family and church. Telma spent 81 beautiful years showing by example what unconditional love is. Telma is survived by her loving husband Liduino, sons Edward and Melvin, six grandchildren, Eddy, Diana, Jesse, Tony, Vincent, and Robert, and one great-grandchild, Emily. They were all as much the light of her life as she was to them. She was their VaVa, and her smile lit up the room whenever she saw them.
Telma’s grandchildren were so blessed to have her in their lives as we all were.
Telma will be forever missed by her two brothers Guilhereme (Bill) and his wife Alda Maria, and Manuel Souza; extended family of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many cousins and friends.
