Florentina De Jongco Ponce passed away on April 6, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones after a hard-fought battle with kidney disease.
Florentina was born on May 19, 1930 to Angela and Felipe in Manila, Philippines. She met Felix Santos Ponce, and they were married for over 70 years. They were blessed with ten children – Manolito, Yolanda, Pepito, Armando, Myrna, Pol, Emma, Manuel, Emelita, and Regina, twenty-six grandchildren, and many great grandchildren on the way.
She loves cooking, dressmaking, gardening, and volunteering in church for Sunday service. She always sacrificed her needs to support her family. All of her family, friends, and neighbors can attest to how generous, selfless, and loving she was.
Florentina will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who always looked forward to a better future even when times were tough. She was ever-calm and serene in her Catholic faith, for she never failed to believe and always put her faith in God. We will miss her greatly.
