Gaetano "Nino" Gallo

February 11, 1935 – August 1, 2026
Obituary of Gaetano "Nino" Gallo
IN THE CARE OF

Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary

Gaetano "Nino" Gallo, 91, of Morgan Hill, CA passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Andretta, Italy, on February 11, 1935, to Costantino and Rosa Marie Nicoletta Gallo, Nino lived a full life characterized by hard work, devotion to his family, and an enduring spirit.

Nino was born into a historic era; during the hardships of the Great Depression, his father joined the army, leading the family to relocate to Ethiopia. Following British intervention there, the family returned to Italy. In 1955, Nino and members of his family immigrated to California. He proudly served his new country as a corporal in the U.S. Army and remained a resident of California until his death. One of five siblings, Nino is survived by his sister, Ersilia, and joins in eternal rest with his parents and his siblings, Francesco, Italia, and Angelo.

Known for his sense of humor, strong work ethic, deep love for his family and friends, and his effervescent laugh and smile, Nino loved to create and build. From houses to custom furniture, he was happiest with a tool in his hand. He made his living as a master carpenter and proudly owned his own company, Gallo Construction.

Nino's legacy lives on through his beloved wife of 38 years, Susan Gallo. He also leaves behind his three sons, Michael, Stephen, and John, whom he shared with his former wife, the late Kathleen Barger Gallo; his step children Charles Sylvia and Suzanne Brown; 11 cherished grandchildren; one adored great-grandchild; and his daughters-in-law, extended family, and friends who filled his life with joy.

Arrangements for a Celebration of Life are pending and will be shared by the family once finalized.
