Geoffrey Crane Goodfellow

Age 65, passed away at home on September 5, 2012 after a long battle with ALS/Lou Gehrig's Disease. Born in Cranford, New Jersey to Charles and Florence "Billy" Goodfellow. Loving husband of Chris for 35 years. Beloved father of Nancy, Gregory, Timothy and Joshua. Dearest brother of Chuck Goodfellow and his wife Mary, and Dolly Berndt and her husband Rob. Cherished brother-in-law of Julie Simmons. Loving grandfather to Oshoa, Shivani, Hannah and Lucia. Uncle to several nieces and nephews. Geof graduated from Dartmouth College and received his Master's Degree from U.C. Berkeley. He retired as Director of Planning and Inspection with the City of Santa Clara where he had worked for 34 years. Geof's interests over the years included international folk dancing, hiking, country-western line dancing, and biking. He was an avid reader, and also liked to cook and travel. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, the more challenging the better. He loved the theater and was a longtime supporter of the San Jose Rep. Geof was a kind soul who always sought and found the goodness in others. His memory will live on forever in the hearts of those of us blessed to have known him. Memorial Service, Thursday 9/13/2012 at 1PM at Lima Family Santa Clara, 466 N. Winchester Blvd. The family suggests that charitable donations be made to Habitat for Humanity, a cause that was very close to Geof's heart.
