Please except our deepest condolences of the passing of Jerry.
We have been neighbors for 49 years and never once in all this time did we ever have cross words. We had gone on a few get away weekends with our families and Jerry always could not do anymore for us to be sure we were having a good time.  I will miss the times when he would come over just to see how we were doing if we hadn’t seen each other in a week or so. We loved the entire caires family.  Jerry, May you Rest In Peace!

When we where neighbors (in the 70’s), Jerry and Emily where good friends of ours. Eddy had a lot of fun with Jerry, I just adored Emily she was the nicest person to me, a young mother, she helped me with questions I had.

Saddened to see the notice of Jerry's passing.  We were classmates at Fremont High in Sunnyvale.  Both of us were new to the school in 1955 having transferred in.  Me from San Francisco, Jerry from Hawaii.  We became fast friends and I often spent time with Jerry and his family in Cupertino.   We often double dated and just hung out with our pal Aubrey (Whitey) Wynn.

Jerry and I both served in the Navy after High School.  The last time I saw him, I think, was at the 10 year reunion in 1967.  We started our families and our lost touch.  I had thought of him often, but never reconnected. 

He was mature beyond his years, even at 16, and always the consumate gentleman.  I know his family and friends miss him.

Dear Lou, Chris and Jeff,

My deepest condolences to you.  I know Jerry has been through a lot the last two years and I’m sure it’s taken a toll on all of you.  

Jerry was charismatic, considerate and always very complimentary, qualities that not all people are blessed with.  In recent years, I can’t think of an encounter I had with Jerry, where he didn’t ask how my husband and boys were doing; although that may seem trivial I could tell he was sincere in asking.   It saddens me to think I won’t see his smiling face or be greeted with a kiss by him again, thankfully I have great memories of him.  When I think of Jerry, I can see him out front mowing his lawn, returning home from work in that big Cadillac or working on a car wearing one of those mechanic jumpsuits.  You wouldn’t know this but when I was 5 or 6 years old, I was very afraid to swim in the deep end of our pool but thanks to Jerry, he encouraged me and actually got me to swim across the deep end for the very first time. I don’t think I ever thanked him for that but I certainly credit him.  At my wedding, I distinctly remember Jerry and Lou out on the dance floor having a good time.  He had some pretty slick moves if I recall.  Some of these memories may seem mundane, but I’m thankful for them and it’s a good reminder that the small things in life make a difference to others.  Jerry was a good person, neighbor and much more than a friend to my family, he was family.  We will miss him dearly but will hold his memory close to our hearts.  May he rest in peace.
