Gino passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday at the age of 86. He was born to Pietro and Laurina Barsanti in McCloud, CA. In 1947, Gino was enticed by an opportunity to come to San Jose and open the Race Street Fish and Poultry Market with his uncle Ugo Stefani and brother-in-law Paride Riparbelli. In 1948, he married the love of his life, Lucianna Tacito. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary last August. They were blessed with four loving children: Dan Barsanti (Shelly), Joyce Kudrna (Don), Mike Barsanti (Michelle), and Steve Barsanti (Janette). Gino cherished his family and especially loved being a “nonno” to his 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He instilled in them the importance of family, integrity and hard work. Gino’s optimism, zest for life, boundless energy and generosity were an inspiration to all who knew him . Gino is also survived by his treasured sister, Pia Riparbelli, many nephews, nieces and cousins. Visitation will be from 5-7pm Monday, Feb. 11th at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 Winchester Blvd. A Celebration of Gino's Life will be at 10am Tuesday, Feb. 12th at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 88 Race Street, San Jose.
