

On May 24, 1964 in Houston Texas A baby boy was born into this life Mr. Glenard Johnson. Glen was the blessed son of Mr. &Mrs. Bernard and Veda Johnson. It was then that the journey began. Glen was baptized at an early age and was taught to always give God his best. The Family relocated to Oakland Ca. and later to San Jose Ca. Glen attended Anne Darling Elementary and Shepherd Middle School. Glen Graduated from Overfelt High School in San Jose Ca. He attended First Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Emeritus Reverend Simms and Later Pastor Lee Campbell. In the summer of 1979 Glen met the love of his life. Ms. Karen Carr. They would later marry on May 3rd 1986. To this union 5 children were born. Glen worked for De Silva Gates Construction Company. He was a very hard worker and many time had to be told to slow down. He joined the St. John Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Emeritus W.B. White and now Pastor Greg Nolan. Glen had a strong love for his family and there was nothing that he wouldn’t do for his family. He spent lots of time traveling with his family. He also loved going fishing, But the most important lesson he would show and share with them was to always give God their best, to put God first in everything you do. He always quoted the scripture from Joshua 24:15 “As for me and my house we will serve the Lord.” He always kept his family in church attend sunday school, morning service, btu and evening service. He was a great Husband Father a grandfather, uncle and friend. His memory will always be in our hearts, the things he instilled in his family will never be forgotten and it will be acted upon. On January 12th, 1996 Reverend Glen Johnson preached his first sermon and was ordained into the ministry at the Greater St. John Baptist Church. He preached, prayed and served God like it was his last time every single time. His love for people was evident. He was always testifying or preaching to someone whether it was in the grocery store( while were sitting in the car or at home waiting for him to bring back an item because we sent him to the store) or on the streets, it didn’t matter he wanted everyone to know the Lord as their personal savior no matter the color or creed. He was truly a blessed man with lots and lots of love. He would always put others before himself and never wanted to be rewarded for his work. He served faithfully in many ministries through the years such as Ministers alliance, Sunday school, BTU,building fund, and Anniversary committees and many more. He always stated “ My reward is in Heaven”. There will never be a great man like Glenard Johnson. On Thursday June 18th, 2015, God looked down on earth and saw Glen and sent his angels to take My Husband, and Our Father to his Heavenly Home. We loved him but, God loved him more. Preceded in death by his Father Bernard Johnson of Houston TX, his Mother Veda Jo Williams Houston TX, Step-Father Jonnell Williams of Rayville La, Sister Tanya Johnson of Houston TX, and Brother Clay Baldwin of Houston TX. Rev. Glen Johnson is survived by his Wife Karen Johnson, Children: Brian Johnson, Tiffany Johnson, Jermaine Johnson (Lori ) of Atlanta Ga, Brianna Johnson, Kamilya Johnson all of San Jose Ca. Three Grandchildren Jeremiah, JayLenn, and Liberty Johnson. Mother In-Law Ethel Pope and Father In-Law Rufus Carr. Step-Mother Maryann Siblings Dorothy L. Johnson of Houston TX, Pierre Johnson of Hollister Ca, Brenda Austin of Houston TX, John Scott of Houston TX, Barbarann Johnson of Houston TX. And a host of Uncles, Aunts, Nephews, Nieces and Friends.
