Irene passed away Monday in Santa Clara. She is survived by her sister Mitsuko Matoba, brother Charles Yada, several nieces and nephews. Irene will be remembered for her love of gardening, praying the Rosary and her Catholic faith. Irene's life-long career in Law led her to a dedicated connection with Santa Clara University, where she was a Benefactor and a long-time member of the Catala Club. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am Fri. June 14th at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 200 O'Connor Dr. in San Jose. Entombment will follow in Santa Clara Mission Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Irene to the Carmelite Monastery, 1000 Lincoln St., Santa Clara, CA 95050.
