Isaltina Barcelos Teixeira passed away on January 15, 2017 in the morning surrounded by her family. Isaltina was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was 98 year’s young and resided in Santa Clara, California for over 40 years. Isaltina was born on January 16, 1918 in Serreta, Terceira, Acores. She was retired and a former housekeeper of the University of Santa Clara. Isaltina loved traveling, taking care of her family, gardening, cooking and her church retreats.
Isaltina was survived by 4 children, Zelia Palhinha of Terceira, Acores, Zenaida Newkirk and son-in law George Newkirk of Minnesota, Mary Jo Teixeira and her partner Linda Harford of Sunnyvale and Veil Teixeira and daughter-in-law Maria Teixeira of Santa Clara, 6 grandchildren, Helder Jose and Nelia Palhinha, Paula and Mario Raimundo, Christina and Tom Czech, Chelse, Zachary and Karley Teixeira and 5 great grandchildren Catarina and Marianna Palhinha, Beatrice Raimundo, Hunter and Alek Czech. Isaltina was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joao Teixeira of over 40 years and her cherished grandson Roger Silva.
