How does one say goodbye to a long time friend? You don't; you just keep him alive in your heart. Sam has never been far from me in life and not now more then a memory away.
Our adventures were many I will tell you of just two. Sam would close his store and we would head fo Reno, gamble all night and be back time to open his store the next morning.
Our last road trip took us to Canada and return via Idaho. we stopped at every casino and train shop we could find. we suffered engine trouble, saw a dope smuggler arrested, a bar room brawl and managed to get lost. Its been a long journey for Sam and I with many stops along the way.
Another item I would like to touch on is Samism's. A Samism is a Special style of speech coined by Sam. " O my gods" is an example. Order another drink or two or take a nap was "wait a minute". One of our favorites is "stroke the fire". I was building up the fire in the wood stove and I said to Sam "I'll stoke the fire". He said "your going to STROKE the fire?" Around our house its been "stroke the fire" ever Since.
He did it his way.-----Think Sinatra
Sam you made me smile.
