He is survived by his wife of thirty one years, Denise Scovel-Margo, his children Jake(Monica) Margo of San Jose, Angelina Margo of San Jose, Joseph Margo of San Jose, Jeff(Kaci) Scovel of Las Vegas, and Son-in-
Law Ron Loy of Gilroy. Many grandchildren Steven, Giacomo, Regina, Jake, Jason, Bailey, Giancarlo, and Alexandra. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and his last living sister Josephine Margo-Hartz of Reno.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters Lulu Grady, and Carmen Loy, as well as his six brothers and one sister.
He was born in Independence, Louisiana on June 12, 1932. His mother passed away when he was a young boy. His father moved with the six brothers to San Jose, CA, while his two sisters stayed behind and lived with family members in Louisiana. Jack attended Woodrow Wilson High School while working part-time. At the young age of sixteen he decided to enlist in the service, and there he finished his education and received his High School Diploma. Jack was stationed in Germany for just over three years, at which time he
achieved the rank of Tech Sargent. Upon returning to San Jose he married, Angie, the mother of their five children. Together they had two sons and three daughters.
Jack, or JMAGS, as he was known in the automobile industry, spent 35 years as a General Manager. His strong work ethic, as well as his kind, fun-loving and humorous personality made for a long and very successful career. He was a proud General Manager for many dealerships owned by one corporation throughout Santa Clara County. Jack married his current wife, Denise, in 1990 blending two families. Their family consisted of 3 boys and 3 girls. Jack proudly and lovingly stepped in as a father figure to Jeff Scovel, Denise’s only son. He treated him as his own. He helped guide and provide fatherly wisdom during Jeff’s most important and informative growing up years. Jeff looked up to Jack, and loved and accepted him as his own father. Jack was proud of, and dearly
loved all six of children. He always had a smile on his face, and loving words to say when speaking of them and grandchildren. When it came to his children and grandchildren, Jack would do anything for them, and was always there for support. All six children knew they could come to their father for advice and encouragement. He was always available to offer comfort or just sit and listen. He will be greatly missed by his children.
Jack, who was fondly known to his grandchildren, as Papa Jack, loved and adored each grandchild. He enjoyed spending time with them, and hearing about their adventures and endeavors. He often spoke of their accomplishments. It brought a proud smile to his face watching each and every one of them grow into remarkable young adults. Jack and Denise loved to travel to warm and sunny destinations, their favorite being Hawaii and Mexico. Over the years they spent many long extended vacations in Hawaii and Mexico. Of all the places they vacationed, they fell in love with Cabo San Lucas. On one important birthday, Denise planned a surprise birthday celebration for Jack in Cabo, and surprised him with the very unexpected greeting of his children. He often talked about his emotion and disbelief while sitting by the pool, with cocktail in hand, and seeing his children walk toward him. His surprise birthday celebration was four days of family, fun, and love. This was a highlight of his life, and one of the best birthday celebrations of all his years. He reminisced, and often spoke of the time he spent in Cabo with his wife, and surprise appearance of his children.
Of all things Jack loved, family celebrations, and get togethers were most important to him. Whenever possible, he and Denise celebrated many birthdays and holidays at their home in San Jose. Jack looked forward to and most enjoyed Christmas Day. His children gathered at the house for Christmas festivities, and time spent together. This time was spent with Jack barbecuing Italian sausages, slicing a delicious honey ham, and best of all, Denise’s famous, and most loved breakfast soufflé. Jack cherished the time spent with both his children and grandchildren. Christmas Day was filled with love, smiles, and laughter. Although, Jack and Denise were exhausted by the end of Christmas Day, he couldn’t wait until the next year to do it all over again.
Jack was greatly, and deeply loved by his children, grandchildren, In-Laws, and all who knew him. Life, and the world without Jack, will be a life adjustment. NO ONE can take the place of Jack Margo. He was one-of-a kind. He was deeply loved, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He will remain deep in our hearts. His memories will live on forever.
