

Lucchesi, Jacob George, resident of San Jose, Ca.Entered into rest in San Jose Nov. 3, 2014 at the age of 95, Jake lived his life to the fullest, which began on Sept. 15, 1919.A proud resident of San Jose's "Goose Town", Jake was one of 4 boys born in San Jose to Italian immigrant parents Joseph and Margaret Lucchesi. Jake grew up in San Jose, went to Washington school and graduated from San Jose Tech in 1937. He entered the Army Air force in 1940 and served as a flight engineer aboard B-25's and B-26'S throughout WWII. He was extremely proud of hisMilitary service and after the war, he met frequently with his wartime buddies.During his time in the military, Jake became re acquainted with his childhood friend Marie Sunseri and they were married Oct. 29, 1944. Jake was married to Marie for 59 years; a devoted and loving wife who passed away in June of 2003. Together they raised and enjoyed their loving and close knit family in San Jose.Jake worked for Santa Clara County and retired in 1980 as AssistantChief Inspector of the Architectural Division.Jake was an avid outdoorsman. He loved his many adventures spent with family and friends. Taking horse pack trips into the Emigrant Wilderness, deer hunting in Utah, or duck hunting in Willows were his favorites. Known as "Pop" or "Grandpa Jake", he was an incredible camp cook. He could whip out chicken cacciatore, an apple pie, or fresh baked bread in the middle of nowhere over a campfire, to the delight of his fellow campers.Jake is survived by his daughter Michele Lucchesi, son Jim Lucchesi and his wife Sandi. He is also survived by his grandchildren Morgan, Julie, Stephen and his wife Nicole, as well as great-grandchildren Ashley, Jacob, Matthew, Kaila, and Hailey, and many nieces and nephews.
