Janet E Holdren

Passed peacefully Dec. 8, 2023, in Fremont, CA, after a long determined battle with breast cancer. She was 87 years old.

Born March 24, 1936, in San Francisco. She was preceded in death by her husband Stephen P. Marelich, Jr. in 1959, Raymond A. Holdren in 1991, her Grandson Joshua Holdren in 2001, and her Grandaughter Kelly Marelich in 2014.

She leaves behind brother Mike Lawson, children Stephen. P. Marelich, III, Shelly J. Brooks, Michael T. Holdren and Rayna L. Holdren Ash; much loved grandchildren Joelle, Alaura, Candace, Riley, Noah, Avielle, Jenna and Luke; Great grandchildren Dexter, Harper, Mabel and Cameron.

Mom lived a full, sometimes challenging life, with grace, determination and a strong faith in God, which she instilled in us all. She had a sharp wit and great sense of humor. She enjoyed her trips to Reno with her bestie Ginny, Summers in Fort Bragg with Margaret, her cruise to Alaska, and summer and fall trips back east. She had a loyal group of bingo buddies too. In the end, she just had to have her Venti Caramel Frappachino whilst playing endless games of solitaire, watching SF Giants, 49er games, Downton Abbey, Father Brown and any version of CSI

she could find. She loved a good mystery, English humor and Masterpiece Theatre.

Most of all, she loved us and our wellbeing, her greatest concern. We love you mom, and will never forget that no matter what challenges came your way, you took care of us, chin up, faith foremost and marched right on through.

She is finally at rest, her battle bravely fought, her life well lived…Peace is Hers..

A rosary service for Janet will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 North Winchester Blvd, Santa Clara, CA 95050. A committal service will occur Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln St, Santa Clara, CA 95050. A visitation will occur Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM, 466 North Winchester Blvd, Santa Clara, CA 95050.
