Born and raised in South Korea, Jay was the beloved son of the late In-Sub Hong and Chun-Soong Kwon. He was the devoted husband of Dolly Hong, with whom he shared nearly 50 years filled with love, laughter and partnership.
In 1979, Jay immigrated to the United States with Dolly, carrying with him the values of hard work, faith and devotion to family that would guide his life.
Jay is survived by his loving wife, Dolly Hong; his daughter, Amy Hong, and her husband, Byron Raco; and his son, Kevin Hong, and his fiancee, Kelly Yeung. He is also survived by his dear brothers, Jae Jwa Hong and Jae Taek Hong, and by many nieces and nephews who held him close to his heart.
Jay found joy in caring for his family and happiness on the golf course with friends and loved ones. Endlessly curious and highly skilled, Jay was Mr. DIY, always tinkering to improve systems, processes and electronics.
He was a devoted and longstanding member of the Korean United Methodist Church of Santa Clara Valley, where he lived out his faith in service and fellowship.
