Joel Dean Williams

Joel Dean Williams, was born on August 21, 1938 in Waterloo, Iowa, son of Russell E Williams and Alverna A (Mueller) Williams. He passed away on March 31, 2026 in Santa Clara, California at the age of 87.

Joel grew up in Waterloo, Iowa and graduated from East High School there in 1957. In the early 1960’s he moved to California, first living in Los Gatos and later settling in Campbell, California, where he worked for the US Postal Service for more than 35 years. He was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Cupertino, California. Joel was a faithful Christian, enjoyed following Iowa sports as well as 49ers football, and loved the California weather.

Joel was preceded in death by his parents, a brother David Williams, a sister Marcia Williams, and a niece, Carissa Williams. He is survived by a brother Loren (Jan) Williams of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and nephews and nieces Matthew (Julie Hanus) Williams, Kelsey (Dale Stout) Williams, Wade Williams, and Amber Williams.

Services for Joel Williams will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 10 at Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Cupertino. A graveside memorial and burial will be held at a later date.at Garden of Memories in Waterloo, Iowa.
