Jose Maria Froias Medeiros

Born on January 26, 1949 in Agua de Pau, Sao Miguel, Azores, Jose Maria is one of five children born to the late Ernesto and Maria Jaoquina Medeiros. He did his military service and worked as a Cargo Ship Diesel Engineer in the Azores before moving to the United States in 1978 to pursue better opportunities and a brighter future for his growing family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. He was a passionate soccer fan and loved his team Benfica. He would jump at any opportunity he had to be in the ocean, reel in hand and a cooler full of fish, but his biggest and greatest love and joy was his family.

Jose Maria is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Maria da Conceicao, 5 children, 3 daughter in laws and 2 son in laws, Americo (Liz), Jose (Claudia), Grace (Tommy), Monica (Rocky), Nobby (Rosa) and 8 grandchildren, Alonzo, Jasmine, Mikey, Isaac, Andrea, Lola, Abigail and Tiago. Jose Maria also leaves behind 4 siblings, Norberto, Humberto, Americo and Grace as well as nieces, nephews and many friends.

Jose Maria was a fun loving jokester, a story teller, a best friend, honest, hardworking and a big hearted man. He was always willing to lend a hand and never ask for anything in return.

He left us way too soon to join his parents in Gods heaven and will forever be in our hearts and prayers. We love you!!
