Julia Marie Hudson

Julia Calabrese Hudson, resident of San Jose, passed away on March 18, 2023 just seven weeks shy of her 102nd birthday. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Ralph. She left behind children and grandchildren who will miss her dearly: Geoffrey Hudson, Tighe Hudson, and Sue Ann Vetrone, Jenna Hudson, Michelle Dowdle and Michael Vetrone. A week after her 100th birthday, Julia welcomed her only great grandchild, Sydney.

Julia was born in Chicago, the first of her seven siblings born in America after her parents and four older brothers. She lived through the Great Depression which explains her appreciation for the good times which were many. She was an amazing Italian cook and loved spending time in her kitchen with family and friends. She enjoyed golf and watching sports on television. Julia was ecstatic to see her Chicago Cubs win a World Series in 2016.

She will be greatly missed for her strength, sharp wit and kindness. There will be a private family burial service at the Santa Clara Mission Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Sisters of the Holy Names.

A graveside service for Julia will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln St, Santa Clara, CA 95050.
