Leah’s journey began on July 7, 1924 where she was born at the home of her Maternal Grandparents Frank & Bertha Teagle in Oakland Ca.
Leah’s hobbies of knitting and crocheting won prizes at both Trinity and San Joaquin County Fairs. She loved doing crossword puzzles in ink, reading, fishing, camping, crocheting, knitting, attending Church and most importantly being with family. She felt honored to crochet baby booties for the Real Option Organization. Many new mothers were given Leah’s handmade creations.
She met the love of her life Frank Herman Jr. on Memorial Day in 1940; became engaged on Valentine’s Day 1941, and received her engagement ring the evening of her Senior Ball. They wed on September 18, 1941.
Leah worked at Lockheed Missile and Space as a Supervisor in the cable shop, making cables for the missiles.
After retiring she joined the Women of Moose Chapter in Lewiston CA and held many positions. She served as a recorder, a Senior Regent and a Red Stole Collegian.
Leah is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Frank O Herman Jr., (Oct. 29, 2004), and their infant child Grace Herman, (December 6, 1946).
Leah is survived by her 4 children, Gerald Herman of Wilmington DE, Lynn Barker of Santa Cruz CA, Carol Herman of San Jose CA, and Sandra Vera of Hollister CA.
Leah always said how blessed she was that she was able to know all of her 8 grandchildren, James, Gregg, Laura, Kristoffer, Justin, Travis, Kevin, and Haley, and her 5 great-granddaughters, Hannah, Emma, Keely, Micaela, and Avery
Services will be held Saturday April 7, 2018 at 2:00pm at East Valley Church, 2827 Flint Ave, San Jose, CA 95148.

Leah will be inurned at San Joaquin Veteran’s Cemetery, with her husband Frank, at a private family ceremony.
