Lois Evelyn Bongers

Heaven has just received a special angel. She was the beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cornerstone of our family. Her very small stature in no way matched her huge heart, capacity for compassion, and steely determination. Born in Raymondville TX, she was an Army veteran of the WAC Corp, a cancer survivor, spoke German, played golf, and loved to spend time with her grandbabies, bake, read, and travel.

She is survived by her husband of 62 yrs. Heinz Bongers, daughters Christi (John), Laura (Jon), and seven grandchildren; Amanda, Zachary, Tori, Sarah, Logan, Mason, Jon, and great-grandchild Ryan. She was a southern belle with a spine of steel, and was deeply loved by all who knew her. She did not wish to have a funeral, but will be celebrated in a private memorial with family and friends. Timing for that celebration will be forthcoming at a later date.
