Lurdes De Freitas Corregedor

It is with deep sadness that our family announces the death of our matriarch, Lurdes De Freitas Corregedor. Lurdes passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022, at the age of 88. She was born and raised in Santa Cruz, Madeira Island, Portugal. She was the daughter of João Joaquim and Lurdes de Freitas, now deceased. She was the sister of Manuel Arnaldo Joaquim and Maria Mendonça, both now deceased. She was married for 49 years to Antonio Rodrigues Corregedor (better known as Marcelo), also deceased. Lurdes lived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for 35 years until immigrating to the United States in 1989.

Mourning Her Departure:

Three Sons:

Arnold Rodrigues and his wife Mary Jo in Marina, CA; Armando Corregedor and his wife Marisol in Castro Valley, CA; and Amaro Corregedor and his wife Rosangela in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Three Granddaughters:

Jeannie Hylkema and her husband Steve in Santa Clara, CA; Sara Rodrigues in Elk Grove, CA; and Tallita Corregedor and her husband Joaovane Fontes in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Two Grandsons:

Danniel Rodrigues and his wife Kiana in Granite Bay, CA; and Anthony Corregedor in Walnut Creek, CA.

Six great-grandchildren:

Brenden and Justin Hylkema in Santa Clara, CA; Dylann and Kai Rodrigues in Granite Bay, CA; Karinne and Katlyn Corregedor in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

One sister: Alzira Nunes from Santa Clara, CA.

She also leaves several nephews and nieces in the United States, Venezuela, South Africa and Brazil.
