It's been a very lonely year without you dad. Tuesday's have an anticipated phone call that never comes. As I continue to march forward without you I see and hear so many things that remind me of you. I speak to you in my heart. Missing you is an understatement. Dad it doesn't get easier I've just learned how to try and live without you physically here. I know you are in the best place with your parents, jimmy and roxanne. Heaven has welcomed you home to rest. I love you dad. Rest In Peace

Marcos was my first cousin once removed -- my grandmother's nephew. I have one particularly vivid memory of him, from the late 1970s when Ernie married his first wife, Carol, and threw a reception in his beautiful home in the Berkeley hills overlooking the football field and the East Bay. I was seated next to Marcos. I was in my mid-twenties, and had not had much contact with him before. The first thing he said to me was, "You and I are blood. We are family." This put me at ease immediately. He told me about his work, and said, "I am a Little Shot, but I like to have fun." I thought this was funny, and overly modest. I remember how kind he was to me, and how much fun he was to sit next to. He also helped my mother and me out many times. I'm very glad to have known him. Love to all the family.

Grandpa today makes a week you've been gone physically but never from my heart.  You are missed terribly but daily I see my green frog you painted me and it makes me smile.  The times we spent, the phone calls looking for my mom, the jokes and the life lessons are all greatly missed. I love you but you KNOW that. Until we meet again besitos. Xoxo

Marcos, you were my father in law but I loved you like a father, but most of all you were like my best friend. I am going to miss you so much, all the good times we had on vacations and bbq's are memories that I will never forget. Love you dad!
