Maria Elena Garcia passed away peacefully December 8, 2020 in San Jose, CA due to complications related to Alzheimer’s. She is survived by Raul, her husband of 65 years, her five children Sylvia, Jaime, Art, Susie, and Leticia, and their spouses, 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Born July 2, 1937 in Acuna, Mexico, Elena was the daughter of the late Ernesto Beltran-Lopez and Guadalupe Duran. She was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters. Elena married Raul Garcia on March 12, 1955, moved to Del Rio, TX in 1956 and then to San Jose in 1958 where they remained until her passing.
Elena was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, kept an immaculate house, and loved taking care of her grandkids. She will always be remembered as a selfless wife, the best mother and Nana, and a thoughtful friend. She was a strong beautiful woman who sacrificed her needs for the good of her family. Her laughter and love always brightened a gathering and she will be missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
