

Maria O. Olvera , 61, passed away on January 9, 2016 peacefully in her sleep at her place of residence in Santa Clara. She is survived by her daughters Linda Rodriguez, Michelle Guel and April Guel. Grandmother to 12 grandchildren Joseph Subia III, Savonna Rodriguez, Tristan Rodriguez, Alexandria Guel , Samantha Rodriguez, Samuel Ramirez, Jordan Ricardez and Brayden Palomo . Her extended Grandchildren who she loved very much are Armand Ricardez, Peter Palomo Jr. ,Tiana Palomo and Isaiah Palomo. She was the partner of Francisco Olvera, they shared 25 years together.
She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas daughter of Esther Martinez and moved to San Jose at the age of 17, where she spent the rest of her life.
She was a member of the North Valley Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending church every Sunday and spending time with her friends and family. Her Hobbies consisted of buying and selling jewelry at craft fairs. Maria enjoyed attending swim class at the Santa Clara Senior Center and having lunch with her circle of friends at their table.
She will always be remembered for her spunky personality, her truthfulness, her bluntness in speaking her mind and her entrepreneurial ideas to prosper her in her travels. Her laughter and contagious smile would light up the room. Her ability to capture the hearts of all she encountered will forever be engraved in our memories. We will forever cherish her courage and desire to live life fully and love unconditionally. One of her most memorable saying’s would be “Life is a beach”.
