Maria Giovanna Pioli, 95, of San Jose, CA, passed away on July 12, 2016. She was the beloved wife of Louis Pioli, with whom she shared 70 blissful years of marriage. Born in Verona, Italy on May 20, 1921, she was the daughter of Cesare and Pasqua Campigotto. Maria is survived by her husband, Louis Pioli, whom she met during WW II while he was stationed in Verona with the American armed forces. They were married June 27, 1946, in Verona, and had three children together, Paul Pioli (deceased) Ed Pioli (Dolores) of San Jose, CA; Gary Pioli (Donna) of Stockton, CA. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Lisa (Stangl), Matthew, Jenna (Dykzeul), Lucas, and Gianna Pioli, along with two great granddaughters, Grace and Anna Stangl. She is remembered as a loving wife, mother, and a doting grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed cooking from scratch unforgettable, tasty, Italian meals for her family.
