Maria was born on September 13, 1946, in Mexico to Ana Dolores Meza and Salvador Meza Sr. She is the eldest of four siblings. She leaves behind, her brother Salvador Meza Jr, her sister Carmen Meza-Rocha, her brother Rafael Meza, and her youngest brother David Meza. Maria is fondly known as Auntie Mary in our family. She is an aunt to Edwardo Rocha, Joshua Meza, Lauren Meza, Thomas Meza, Victor Meza, Isaiah Meza, Jacob Meza, Sister Galilee, Ezekiel Meza, Arazeli Castillo, and Sergio Meza. Maria is a great aunt to Conner, Laney, Elijah, Michael, Viviana, Ellie, Mateo, and Marco. Maria lived in El Paso Texas till the age of 18. She attended Father Yermo High School.
The family moved to California in 1965 looking for a new start. She attended San Jose City College and received an Associate of Arts Degree. She also attended West Valley College and received an Associate of Arts Degree with a Medical Assistant Certificate. She worked for the County of Santa Clara as an Administrative Assistant. She retired from the County of Santa Clara in the year 2004.
Maria was a devout Catholic and lived her faith. Her faith gave her the courage to fight her battle with cancer. Maria enjoyed attending Mass, dancing, working out, cooking, baking, and spending time with family.
Maria was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and God Mother. Our Auntie Mary will be remembered for her faith, her kindness, her sense of humor and her love for her family. She was always only a phone call away for council to those who needed it, even during her illness she was ready to listen and help.
Maria was ready to be with our Lord, but sad to leave all those she loved behind. She spent endless
Hours in prayer for herself and her family. She prayed for everyone’s health and wellbeing, for the baptism of all her nieces and nephews and the list goes on.
Her dying wish was for all of us to meet in heaven one day. She also wanted us to be happy not sad.
She wanted us to take care of each other. She said she would have more time to pray for us all.
We will continue to pray for her and all our loved ones that have gone before us. Forever in our hearts.
