Marie Jean Romero

Marie Jean Romero (known as Baby Jean by her family and relatives) peacefully entered eternal rest on May 30, 2025. Marie was born to Joseph and Connie Turturici, and was raised in San Jose, California. At the early age of 14 Marie learned to play the piano. She enjoyed playing for her family even well into her 80’s. Marie attended local schools in San Jose; Grant Elementary School, Peter Burnett Jr. High and graduated from San Jose High School in 1950. After high school she worked as a secretary at the Santa Clara County Recorders Office in downtown San Jose.

Marie met her husband Frank at the Santa Clara County Fair. Marie and Frank were engaged 3 months later and married that following year in October 1955. Their first home was in Campbell where they started their family. In 1965 they moved to Morgan Hill, established their own plumbing business, and raised four daughters. Marie was a homemaker, and she worked together with her husband running their business. They moved to Hollister while Marie continued to work until she later retired in the late 1990’s.

Marie was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife, caring mother and proud Nani to her three grandsons. Marie loved to cook for family and friends. We all loved her melt-in-your-mouth homemade meatballs and pasta sauce!

Marie is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Frank, adoring brother Ben Turturici and dear sister-in-law Helen.

Marie is survived by her daughters, Patricia Trier, Cathy (Scott) Thompson, Debbie (Jim) Persons, and Linda Romero, her beloved grandchildren Frankie Romero, Jimmy (Heather) Persons, Joey Persons, Carly Thompson, and cherished nieces and nephews. Marie was 92 years old.

Rosary will be held at Lima Family Mortuary, 466 Winchester Blvd., Santa Clara on June 10, 2025, at 6 PM.

Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Church, 580 E. Jackson Street, San Jose on June 11, 2025, at 11 AM.
