Mary Jane Karas passed away quietly Tuesday night. She touched many lives with her friendliness and positive outlook on life. She enjoyed travelling to dog shows with her basenjis, volunteering, and lapidary (jewelry-making). Mary Jane lived all over the world and had many stories from abroad, her friends, and of her family. Mary Jane is survived by her husband Dan, her daughter Christine Erskine, and her son Brian Karas, her sister Margaret Walthall, and her brother Lawrence Womack and their families. Friends and family are invited to a Graveside service on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 22555 Cristo Rey Dr., Los Altos. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Basenji Club of Northern California or to the Santa Clara Senior Center.
