May 25, 1962 – December 15, 2025
Kenneth Michael Green, a devoted father, grandfather, Navy veteran, and gifted chef, passed away on December 15, 2025, in Colma, California, at the age of 63. A dearly loved son and brother, Michael was born on May 25, 1962, in Los Angeles to David Green and the late Minna Smith. In his later years, Michael was most at home by the water as an avid fisherman, finding great peace and joy in the quiet patience of the sport. Whether he was casting a line, in a chef’s coat, or cheering on his beloved Raiders, Michael lived with a vibrant spirit and a heart for service.
Military Service
In August 1982, Michael entered active duty in the United States Navy. He served with distinction as a Tactical Air Traffic Controller and a Tactical Warfare Specialist. For his dedicated service and skill, he was honored with the Navy Battle "E" Ribbon and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. Following his honorable discharge in 1987, Michael carried the values of the Navy with him throughout his life. He held a deep and lasting love for his time at sea and always took great pride in the dedication and honor required of a sailor.
A Life Shared Through Food and Leisure
Known affectionately as "Chef Mike," Michael’s greatest gift was the passion he brought to the kitchen. After earning his Cordon Bleu Certification in 1997, he managed food service for major organizations such as Google and Cisco; he also completed a distinguished culinary internship at the U.S. House of Representatives. For Michael, cooking was an act of love, and he found true fulfillment in preparing meals for his fellow veterans at the VA homes where he resided.
In addition to his culinary pursuits, Michael enjoyed the challenge of golf. These moments of leisure reflected his deep appreciation for the tranquility of the outdoors and the simpler things in life.
Family and Remembrance
Michael’s memory is cherished by his family and the many friends who became family. He is survived by his daughter, Kianna Green; his son, Trinidad Green; and his grandson, Ammiel "Mateo" Aguilar Green.
