Nancy Monica Nardini

Our beloved Nancy Monica Nardini of Santa Clara, California, passed away on April 7, just shy of her 95th birthday. She had recently celebrated Easter with her family. Nancy is survived by her children: Joseph (Amy), Mark (Maryann), Eileen (Stirling), nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and brother-in-law David.

Nancy graduated from Mercy High School before attending nursing school in San Francisco. She was a registered nurse and worked in labor and delivery and later as one of the first Advice Nurses at Kaiser Santa Clara. She proudly fought for nurses’ rights and served on the negotiating team of the California Nurses Association. Nancy was active in church life at Saint Lawrence the Martyr Parish serving in Eucharistic and Marriage Ministries along with her husband Peter. Her Catholic faith was a guiding force of her life. She especially looked to Saint Padre Pio as a source of guidance, prayer and comfort.

Nancy lived a full and active life and her greatest passion was spending time with her husband Peter and family. She went sailing, sewed, cooked, traveled, shopped, and enjoyed annual vacations in Lake Tahoe. She was very close with her parents on both sides and enjoyed family holidays, dinners, and helping care for them as they aged. Being a good and supportive mother to her children and grandchildren, she loved their visits and hearing about all their adventures. Nancy was a positive and lighthearted person. She loved a good joke or funny story, had a wonderful sense of humor and laughed regularly and robustly.

Nancy was deeply loved and respected by her family, friends, and colleagues and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 10AM on April 27th at Saint Lawrence the Martyr Parish, Santa Clara with a reception immediately following. She will be entombed at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma beside her beloved husband, Peter.
