Nicholas Anthony Rinauro, Sr., 92, of Carson City, Nevada, and Middletown, California died on August 13, 2012 in Reno. He was born to the late Ciro Rinauro and Meri Reina on March 2, 1920 in San Jose, CA. Nick attended
Willow Glen High School and began working as a trash collector in San Francisco at age 17, then went to work for his brother, Frank, at Mountain View Disposal before managing Mission Trail Garbage Company in Santa Clara in 1959. He later became sole owner of Mission Trail in 1976 and continued to operate Mission Trail. The business was sold in 1998. Nick loved his work and his industry and will be remembered well for his contributions. He was also an avid hunter with several
record trophies to his name. Nick was a member of the Middletown Lion’s Club, and a lifetime member of the NRA and Ducks Unlimited. Nick is survived by his wife of 20 years, Sue, his two children and three step children: Nicole Rinauro of Seattle; Nicholas Jr. of El Dorado Hills; Alfred Cook, of Oakland; Douglas Cook of Carson City; and Robert Cook of Concord. Nick also has ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild and another on the way. Donations may be made to the Middletown Lion’s Club or St. Jude’s in Nick’s memory. Winchester Blvd. Funeral Service, Friday 8/24 at 11AM at St. Clare Parish, 941 Lexington St. Interment to follow at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery.
