Born on September 27, 1942, in Puerto Rico, Nilda was the beloved daughter of Lydia and Antonio Colón. When her dad was finally stationed in California, she, her mom, and sisters made the long bus trip across the US to meet him once he was settled in San Francisco. It was there that she eventually met and married her high school sweetheart, Elvin Jimenez, and together they raised two children, Steve and Liria. Nilda’s patience, strength, and unconditional love touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She was especially proud of all of her grandchildren and loved attending their sporting events, sharing family recipes, and facetiming with them when they were away from home. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by her children, Steve (Terri) and Liria; her four grandchildren, Brandon, Alli, Carissa, and Cruz; and her three sisters, Emma, Lydia, and Alicia.
