Entered into rest on May 9, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 6, 1919 in a small hacienda in San Francisco del Rincon, Guanajuato, Mexico and came to this country at 42 days old. He attended school is Santa Paula, CA where he met his future wife, Manuela and worked in the orchards with his brothers, Albert and Manuel. Soon after he was drafted into the army in 1942 assigned to the 88th infantry which were famously known as the “Blue Devils” for their tenacity. He was wounded twice during battle and became a purple heart recipient. He married the love of his life, Manuela and had three children, Mark, Maria Elena and Carlos whom he cherished. He was widowed 10 years later and raised his kids alone. He was a barber for 50 years and was the owner of three shops in San Jose. He was also a strong Catholic who showed his children his love for God. Ramon enjoyed fishing, traveling and was an avid reader who was well versed in military and mexican history. He delighted in telling stories about the war. He lived a full life to the age of 94. He is survived by his three children and has now joined his wife, brothers, granddaughter and parents who preceded him in death. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 15, 2013 from 5-8PM with Rosary at 6PM at Lima Family Santa Clara, 466 N. Winchester Blvd. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 9:30AM at St. Leo Parish, 88 Race St. San Jose. Interment to follow at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln St.
